Biography

“Evan Marien is a composer/producer/multi-instrumentalist born and raised in Decatur, Illinois and now living in Brooklyn, NY. In 2009, Marien graduated Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music and the same year was voted in Bass Player Magazine Reader’s Choice Awards, one of the top three “Most Exciting New Players”.

Most recently he has been seen playing bass, keys and singing backgrounds for Elliot Moss, playing bass with Thundercat drummer Justin Brown’s NYEUSI, and the last bassist to play in guitar legend Allan Holdsworth’s band.

Besides leading his own electro-jazz project with drummer Dana Hawkins, Evan has also recorded or performed with Virgil Donati, Zach Danziger, Louis Cole, Wayne Krantz, Nate Wood, Cory Wong, Jason Lindner, Dennis Hamm, Mark Shim, Jack DeJohnette, David Fiuczynski, Tim Miller, Steve Hunt, Ari Hoenig, Mike Slott, Louis Cato and many others.

Evan has also crossed over into the pop/rock/hip hop worlds recording with Mitski on her hit single ‘Nobody’, co-writing songs with Outasight and Baby Raptors , making sample packs with A$AP Ferg producer Frankie P and touring with Greyson Chance, Morgan James and more.
